7 Reasons Your Hair Is Still Dry + Frizzy
(and why none of them are genetic)

Your cuticle is damaged, and that is the frizz.
Put a damaged strand under a microscope and the outer layer, the cuticle, is lifted and chipped instead of lying flat like roof shingles. That one thing causes all three complaints. Open scales let water out, so hair is dry. They catch on each other and absorb humidity, so hair is frizzy. They scatter light instead of reflecting it, so hair is dull. Conditioner lays them down for a day and rinses away. Sealing them takes something small enough to get underneath. Break enough and the keratin inside loses its structure: the strand stops lying smooth. None of it is visible in the mirror. All of it is visible under a microscope.
